Portable Maintenance Access Terminal (PMAT)
The Portable Maintenance Access Terminal/NT (PMAT/NT) is a highly reliable, rugged computer platform designed for use in an aircraft environment. The PMAT/NT is designed to meet DO-160 environmental and EMI requirements, while maximizing the use of Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) components/subsystems.
The PMAT/NT was designed to support the Boeing 777 airplane by providing the operator interface to the Airplane Information Management System/Onboard Maintenance System (AIMS/OMS), which includes the Central Maintenance Computer Function (CMCF) and Airplane Condition Management System (ACMF).
The PMAT/NT supports dual operating system software, including both a UNIX and Windows NT operating system. The UNIX operating system supports the AIMS Onboard Maintenance System, while the Windows NT operating system supports miscellaneous applications such as the Boeing Portable Maintenance Aid (PMA).
